Wow, LFW is 3 years older than me! As part of it’s celebrations Elle Magazine have commisioned 25 designers to create commemorative posters to be plotted around the London Underground!
Designers such as; Paul Smith, Mulberry and Matthew Williamson, who have all contributed towards the super power that is LFW will be participating in the new interior of London Underground.
They have also shared their views on what direction they think London Fashion Week will go towards in the next 25 years.
Paul Smith
“Hopefully my poster is full of optimism and has also got a link between fashion and our famous Underground network and map. I hope the future of fashion in Britain in the next 25 years continues to be full of creativity as London definitely is a goldmine of talent.”
Matthew Williamson
“London has a wealth of good fashion schools and colleges which produce students who are creative and ground-breaking in their designs. The next 25 years will hopefully see the same level of encouragement and support so that our hot-bed of talent can flourish.”
Henry Holland, House of Holland
“When I think of 25 years of London Fashion Week, I realise I am as old as Fashion Week and nowhere near as accomplished. It makes me sad!”
Emma Hill, Mulberry
“Simply 25 more years as the style capital of the world!”
From tomorrow the posters will be placed in stations around Central London and if any of you manage to spot a few of them get your phone cams ready and send in your pics, I will be posting them up on here to take part in the celebrations!
Incase you were wandering about my opinion – As alumni of one of the most influential fashion institutes in the world, I hope to contribute to fashion within the next 25 years and make the last 25 proud!
Remember to send in your pics of any related fashion week events and stay locked in for all updates regarding the celebrations and showcases taking place this week!
