David Koma at just 25 years old, has seemed to make an overnight impact on the fashion industry. After having just graduated with an MA in February and winning the Harrods Design Award, he’s already managed to have his industrial, architectural and sci-fi inspired designs highly endorsed twice in one week! Worn by Beyoncé accepting an award at the EMA’s and Cheryl Cole judging on the X Factor.
“I am honored that my first collection has had such a phenomenal response and particularly that such dynamic performance artists, with a strong individual style, have chosen to wear my designs.”
Koma’s next aim is for his Autumn/Winter 2010 collection to be successful enough to gain sponsorship in London Fashion Week’s NewGen scheme. Taking a look at some of his pieces on the catwalk, it seems his clean tailoring and sharp colour scheme will have no problem winning over the fashion hierarchy.
