Fashion From The Dubai World Cup 2010

Yesterday Natalya and I attended the annual World Cup in Dubai. We joined thousands in a strong stance against the sun to witness the World’s finest come together and race! Of course we did also come to view the fashion.
The first few hours of the event was, I’m not even going to lie, kind of unbearable. Big crowds and a lack of umbrellas in the seating area. In truth however, we could have seated ourselves in another section, but we wanted to mingle and people watch, and that we did!
We found so many gorgeous dresses and head gear to go with, we started snapping straight away!
Some pieces were literally showstopping, for example the peacock dress below.
From the left you have Kim Ehelby in a gorgeous Grecian style purple dress, Gayle Allardice in a spectacular headpiece, and looking very chic is ZayyAan Ahmed.
Although we did spot our fair share of astonishingly bad dresses with just as shockingly terribleĀ millinery. We think that all the ladies chosen for this feature including, Natalya, Farah Hreish and I added to the fashion ‘hits’ and dodged the ‘miss-es’ with our own pieces! Not to mention Suhayl Patel, a gentleman sporting a very appropriate look for the event!
[Natalya and I both wearing dresses from our own label, House Of Rena. To be launched soon!]
Some big smiles including designer Isidora Perick, (Left) wearing one of her own pieces, were also enjoying the races.
As a first timer to one of these events, I have to say that when the races begun and the cheering got louder, you couldn’t help but get in the competition mood! It was a lot of fun to see those horses race past and feel the energy from the crowd grow even further!
All in all the event seemed to be a big success, it was a long day for myself and Natalya, but being asked to be included in Grazia’s style section was one of my highlights! Especially considering I was wearing a House Of Rena design! Also look our for Natalya and I in Ahlan and the National.
Until next year…
