Dress Me Up! Day To Night

This post is specially dedicated to one of our fabulous readers, Doaa.

She recently emailed us about beautiful 12+size women around the Gulf region, explaining how she’d like to see FiveFiveFabulous feature some fashion forward garments that are affordable, yet chic.

We went that extra mile and told her we’d give her a complete virtual style over, picking some key pieces for S/S 2010 that would look great on her body.

Doaa emailed us with her fashion preferences and it went something like this:

“My style has always been comfy chic, I like bold colors & monotones. I prefer pants to skirts, long dresses, long shirts, cardigans, chic tops, edgy sleeves, blazers, belts, & statement bags.

I used to be in heels 24/7 but those days are behind me ever since I discovered flats *bliss*- although i do indulge in a pair of killer stilettos every once in a while : )

I LOVE accessories & tend to go for white/silver tones as opposed to golden/earthy, as well as colorful/playful styles.

I fancy the idea of converting a casual day wear into something that’s suitable for the evening using a few fashion tricks.

Budget is a major factor- at this stage, I can’t afford the big names so I stick to high-street fashion.

I mainly shop from Debenhams (Oasis, Warehouse, Red Herrings), Banana Republic, Koton, Topshop, Monsoon, ZARA, Next, H&M, & New Look…

My favorite colors are: black-white-fuchsia-green-dark blue-salmon- & nude tones

What I’d like is to be more fashion forward with my choices in the sense that I wish to obtain a number of statement items which I could mix & match with number of different outfits.”

We have picked one look that can be transferred from day to night.

Doaa is a new mummy and she needs something that is practical, comfortable, but of course fabulous.

We have chosen a maxi dress for the day, which is perfect for staying comfortable while on a school run, shopping or running errands.

A big statement bag is great for during the day, all ladies know that they need their life to be carried around with them in a chic piece of arm candy. Of course to stay comfy at all times, a sexy pair of flats is key.

So to switch it up to night in a hurry, add a bold blazer, an edgy clutch, sexy heels, a pair of earrings and a statment bracelet. There’s already a chain on the maxi so no need to over accessorize the neck area.
