The Spring/Summer 2011 range from Mary Katrantzou has to be one of the most visually pleasing shows I’ve seen this season. I’ve been a huge fan of Katrantzou’s work since her collaboration with Topshop and after learning she was a fellow UAL almuni.
This collection is so precise in showcasing her aesthetic as a textiles designer that it inspires me in every which way possible. Having a BA in Surface textiles myself, I can appreciate the effort, time and unbelievable accuracy it takes to form these pieces. Her 70′s photography inspiration seems ironic, as I find the garments to be almost futuristic, none the less, still so fabulous! I love the genius behind the print actually coming to life with specific draping on the garments! I have ‘heart bubbled’ my favourites, which are yours?
