Jean Paul Gaultier Haute Couture Fall 2011

There’s no name more exciting to hear next to the word Couture other than Jean Paul-Gaultier. I actually remember him being one of the first designers I had come familiarised with at the tender ago of 7 when my dream and aspirations of the fashion industry began. Him and Gianni Versace, but let’s not get into that tragedy right now. Jean Paul Gaultier has always been one of my favourite designers, and when I layed eyes on this (I think I counted) 62 piece strong collection for Couture Fall 2011, I couldn’t help but feel rather nostalgic of his earlier days. The a very strong sexual undertone going on within this collection, I particularly love the hint of ‘amour’ in the form of vibrant red lips. Jean Paul Gaultier for me is one of the reasons I can enjoy fashion shows. Now only to actually see it first hand. I look very forward to he day I’m invited to a JPG show, I’m pretty sure the fashion obsessed 7 year old in me will feel rather accomplished.
