LFW: Todd Lynn Spring Summer 2012

When Todd Lynn began to show his SS12 collection, I felt relaxed, comfortable and excited to what I was viewing. A palette of nudes and muted tones kept pace with what we have become familiar with for SS12 so far.

Metallic references popped up in the form of a caged top, which I can already envision a strong feature in the editorials of countless magazines. A beautiful metallic skirt paired with a beige jacket was hitting the mark and the addition of models strutting with Christian Louboutin’s, gave a really urban feel to the collection.

Some of the most memorable pieces of this collection for me were the slit-at-the-hip pants and the beautiful white jersey dress modelled by Ataui Deng. Draped fabric sitting at the hip or waist were also a huge hit, as well as the punk-ish ‘pinned-up’ pieces such as the final look in my roundup. The pin jewellery is a collaboration with Shaun Leane.
