A Fabulous Makeover at Cosmetics á la Carte
By Reem in : Beauty // Oct 7 2011
On Wednesday I enjoyed a light makeover and tour of the Cosmetics á la carte boutique in Knightsbridge. If you’re not familiar with the brand, Cosmetics á la carte is known for expert advice and bespoke make up and skin care made just for you.
I enjoyed receiving some amazing tips on how to make it as easy as possible for me to keep my makeup application looking natural. Katy, an á la Carte expert put together a great look for me. I opted for tinted moisturiser as I’m not a huge fan of foundation, so she mixed two different shades to find the right tone for my skin. She also introduced me to ‘Brow Ink’ a semi permanent brow liner. This was perfect for me as I have a scar on my right eyebrow which constantly needs to be filled in. I haven’t come across anything which was so easy to apply and looked so natural before.
Cosmetics á la Carte is also known for it’s bespoke lipstick service. They can re-make a shade which has either been discontinued or you’ve run out of and can’t find anywhere. The service starts from £45 and I can’t wait to take in an old YSL lipstick that even though has run out, I can’t come to terms with throwing away!
Katy used a mixture of ‘Almond’ and ‘Gold Honey’ to create the perfect tinted moisturiser. ‘Vanilla’ Secret Light Concealer and Eyelid Primer to brighten up the bottom of my eyes. Silk Touch Perfecting Powder in ‘Vanilla’ for my T-Zone, ‘Amber’ Blush Touch for my cheeks. Brow Ink in ‘Sable’ for the brows and Divine Lash mascara for the lashes. To finish off Katy used Sheer Balm Lipstick in ‘Camelia’ to add some colour to my lips.
