Hoss Intropia & Diane Birch

Earlier this week I enjoyed an introduction to a brand that has quickly popped up into my affordable luxury radar. Hoss Intropia, welcomed me into their Regent St store to not only get a closer look at their Fall 2011 collection but to also have a lovely little chat with the face of their brand for the season, American singer, Diane Birch. Who by the way just oozes sophistication and beauty like there’s no tomorrow.

I had a little look around the beautifully merchandised 2 storey store before getting a few minutes with Diane where I got an opportunity to get to know her a little bit more as well as find out why she loves fashion and London.

How did ‘Diane Birch’ come about being the face of Hoss Intropia?

”Hoss have been following my style and career for a while and I was truly flattered to be asked to become the face of the brand for this season, I love Hoss and working together has been a perfect match.”

You have a fabulous sense of style, I’m intrigued to know if you style yourself?

“I do style myself, I love to wear long dresses, mixing vintage and modern pieces to evoke feeling. I tend to dress in a nostalgic way but I like to keep it modern. Just anything that makes me feel like I’m living in a fantasy.”

Your style is described as somewhat gothic at the moment, would you agree with that?

“I don’t think it’s specifically gothic, I used to be a goth when I was a teenager so I will always have black lace and velvet forever imprinted in my heart! I do love a lot of rich textures, but I think it’s just a mixture of a lot of things, I love the Victorian era, I also go through a lot of moods and phases, so it can vary. Right now I’m really into the 20′s and 30′s. I love that the era we’re living in now allows you to compile all these different influences into your style.”

Would you say your style coincides with your music?

“I think it does, I mean only because it’s me, the music that comes out of me is me, and the clothing and the way I dress is just me. I’ve tried to do different looks and I always come back to my comfort zone of clothing and dressing. I just think it has to be authentic and then it does coincide.”

You’re a New Yorker through and through, do you like being in London?

“I do, I love London, I love the history, the architecture, the vibe and I have a lot of friends who live in East London. It’s a vibrant and exciting city which is the closest I can compare to New York and New York is my favourite city in the world. London is great because it has a little bit of each of my favourite European cities.”

Are you currently enjoying living out of hotel rooms?

“I love hotels! It’s just annoying not being able to un pack all my clothes, my hat collections and my perfumes!”

You have a love for perfumes, what’s you’re favourite scent?

“Oh my God, so many! I wish I could decide, there are so many! -What are you wearing right now?- Right now, because it was the first thing that I could grab, I’m wearing Fleurs D’Oranger by Serge Lutens, I love that perfume.”

What are you’re favourite items in Hoss right now?

“So hard to choose! I love the pony hair jackets, the long dresses, the necklaces and the lace dresses.”
