As soon as I received word of this I had to share it. BBC Children in Need is renowned for their efforts in changing the lives of thousands of children. The BBC Children in Need advocate that we all know and love is Pudsey the bear. Well this year, our favourite high end designers have all come together to create their very own couture Pudsey bears which will be displayed and auctioned at Liberty from November 7th-November 19th.
“Liberty is thrilled to take part in the designer Pudsey initiative and to support BBC Children in Need. It’s great to see talent and creativity joined for such a worthy cause.”- Ed Burstell, Managing Director, Liberty London
“We are absolutely delighted to have such prestigious designers turn Pudsey couture. And to have Liberty exhibit this one-off collection, allows everyone to view a piece of fashion history. A truly inspirational fundraising initiative.” - Sarah Monteith, Director of Marketing and Fundraising, BBC Children in Need

, Giles Deacon, Jonathan Saunders, Patrick Grant, Katie Hillier, PPQ and Liberty have channelled their personal Spring Summer 2012 collections into inspiration for the bears which are described as “not only beautifully designed pieces, but also offer an insight into fashion trends for 2012, straight from the designers themselves.”- What could be better?
The designers had this to say:
“I absolutely love children, almost all of the influences for my own label Hillier come from either children’s books, childhood memories of mine or from a playful childlike point of view. When I started to think about the design of Pudsey, I wanted to make sure that children would understand it and would be drawn to it,” – Katie Hillier.
“It is a cause I believe in and it was fun to work with Pudsey. He was very pleasant!”- Erdem.
“Pudsey was great to work with and not as much of a diva as I had thought!”- Henry Holland.
As an extra surprise Alistair Carr features 1 carat Forevermark diamonds for the Pringle of Scotland Pudsey and Kim Jones for Katie Grand designs a special Louis Vuitton Bear. Both will be joining the rest of the Pudsey couture bears at Liberty early next week.
