Last night was my Juicy Couture event to launch their new Juicy Jeans range, which I had the pleasure of co-hosting with Ella from CocosTeaParty and Ella from La Petite Anglaise. It was such a great turn out with fabulous music by Whinnie, yummy drinks and all things delicious such as meringues, macaroons and cake pops. Thank you all so much for coming, and to all our readers in Dubai, Natalya and I will be revealing the date for our in store event at the Juicy Couture store in The Dubai Mall very soon. Hope to see you there!
Last night Natalya and I were hostess’ at an intimate shopping and engraving event at the Monica Vinader South Molten Street boutique. The evening was a great success with a pre-mixed playlist featuring music by the likes of Jessie Ware, SBTRKT, Disclosure and Shlomo, cupcakes from Lola’s and of course collection upon collection of Monica Vinader. The engraver was on hand to turn everyone’s personal messages into works of art across their pendants, bracelets or rings, (it was great to see everyone taking advantage of Monica’s fabulous ‘Make it Your Own’ service). We were so happy to see so many familiar faces purchasing either their very first piece or adding to their already existing Monica Vinader collection.
During the event Natalya and I wore pieces from the Siren collection, some pave diamonds and of course Fiji and Ava bracelets. We would like to say a big thank you to everyone that came along and a big congratulations to the winner of our competition, who was announced last night during the event.
When you’ve been on a seven day round the globe tour with Rihanna and River Island you begin to feel as though you’re part of a family, and when I attended the Rihanna for River Island show and after party on Saturday evening I was reunited with that family. I’m so happy and proud of everyone at River Island for achieving an unforgettable evening of super cool music, great vibes and one fantastic collection. Of course props have to go to Adam Selmen and Rihanna for creating a collection so effortless and cool that it had everyone’s assumptions of spikes, studs and booty shorts thrown out the window and completely forgotten about within the first step on the super cool runway/platform.
Throughout the 777 Tour and documenting Rihanna’s 90′s throwback style in each city, it threw me towards the notion that there would be a very cool, minimal approach to the first collection with River Island and I wasn’t wrong. Selman stuck to his very minute aesthetic. Expect lots of full length pieces, slits, high waits, cropped tops, snapbacks and of course some layers wrapped around the waist. Some of my favourite pieces include the red bathing suit, yellow high neck dress and the mix between a pair of dungarees and maxi dress. (Look back to our interview with Mel Ottenberg and Adam Selmen here for an update on Rihanna’s current style).
After the show, we hung out and enjoyed the music, flowing drinks and people watching. Tyson Beckford was within inches, Delilah was dancing all night and super model BFF’s, Cara Delevingne and Jourdan Dunn had everyone’s flashes going crazy. (You need to be following me on Vine to make sure that you’re getting all these updates live! Search for @ReemKanj.) Thank you to River Island for an amazing night. Long live 777!
The Rihanna for River Island collection comes out on March 5th with prices ranging between £18 and £200.
