There’s something about living in a city like London that can excite you and make you feel like you have the world at your fingertips, but it’s not much fun exploring this vibrant land when you have no idea what to wear. With the cold, it’s so difficult to feel inspired when it comes to getting dressed, and in a bid to really get out of my annual sartorial ruts which usually develop this time of year, I’ve decided to push myself out of my comfort zone.
For me, that means wearing more skirts and dresses. I love referring to my Pinterest board when I’m lost for ideas and one look I’ve really wanted to try out is a chunky knit paired with patterned tights and some killer boots. Since I’m one of the proud judges of the LYCRA® fibre brand legfie™ competition next month, I thought this would be the perfect time to style up this look and let you all know about this exciting photo competition which could win you, (1st prize) a week-long trip to Australia, (2nd prize) a weekend for two at the Ushuaïa Beach Hotel in Ibiza, or (3rd prize) a year-long supply of Pretty Polly hosiery made with LYCRA® fibre.
To enter this exciting competition, visit the LYCRA® fibre’s Facebook page and upload a legfie™ that shows your interpretation of the LYCRA® brand: Freedom, Movement and Comfort between the 12th of January and the 1st of February. All the photos that get more than 15 votes or likes, will go to the next round of the competition, where a jury made up of three fashion industry professionals, (including yours truly) will choose the winners from each country (France, Germany, Italy, Poland, Spain and the UK).
-Disclosure- There will be a winner for each category (1st, 2nd & 3rd prize) from each country. You must be over 18 to enter and be a resident of one of the six participating countries.
I can’t wait to see all the entries, good luck!

As I delve into the realm of 2015 with fresh new notebooks, a home office refurbishment and an upcoming trip Dubai to kick off my year of adventures, I can’t help but already feel like I’m in for one good year. I love January, but it’s a cruel reminder that it’s officially past Christmas and still Winter. Seeing as there’s not a lot of justification left for a million and one afternoon naps and endless Netflix watching, I look towards embracing the Christmas-less cold with some whole hearted styling. I wore this look in Paris for a lunch date with the lovely Carin last month. The sun was shining but the cold was just as willing. Cue layering, leather and some over the knee action.
I pray that being able to embrace dressing for my favourite season will actually get me through my least favourite season in it’s full reality. The rain (currently occurring outside), the wind and of course the harsh truth that, I for sure should still not be eating mini mince pies with every tea break at my desk.

What could be more simple then black and white? I’m the first to admit that I fall into a sartorial rut every once in a while. There are just certain times when you need to reach for your fail safe, don’t need to think about it look, and this is one of those moments. Luckily for me (and anyone that has to see me), black and white can be one of the most effortless, chic and simplest of combinations. As well as not being the equivalent of styling rocket-science, you’re most likely going to have black pants and a white shirt in your wardrobe, so this look is totally achievable. It’s also super easy to take it one step further by adding a pair of gorgeous pumps or pull it back with some converse and a ponytail. Just remember, monochrome is always your friend.
