Peroni Collaborazioni Talks Introduce Angela Missoni

On Wednesday evening I was very excited to be in the audience hearing iconic fashion designer Angela Missoni in conversation with renowned fashion journalist Gianluca Longo. Once again the Peroni Collaborazioni Talks held a sold out event at the V&A and the conversation began with a brief insight into the history of the legendary Missoni family. Angela then went on to talk about the development of her daughter, Margherita’s introduction into the world which involved a highly distributed ELLE US spread (2002) shot by Giles Bensimon whilst on a family holiday.

Angela mentioned how Margherita had tried her hand at theatre and drama and decided that ‘the life of an actress was not for her’- “Two years ago Margherita realised she had nothing more to prove to herself and loved fashion and thought that she could bring something to Missoni“

Angela Missoni is an inspiring woman and I was particularly interested in her stories on surviving the economic crisis. “Our name is much bigger than our business and our budget was shrinking”. She mentioned how bringing the Missoni family back to the advertising campaigns had happened at the right time. “We’re not part of a marketing product, we’re real”.

I won’t go into too much detail as Harper’s Bazaar filmed the entire evening and it’s the best way to see how truly personable and laid back this fashion icon is.

Taylor Swift Covers American Vogue Feb 2012

Taylor Swift covers the February issue of American Vogue photographed by Mario Testino. I have to say, although I’m not all for celebrities on the cover of fashion magazines, I really like this image. It’s so seventies and her eyes just pierce straight through.

I’m still dying to see models dominate the covers again! I miss the 90′s! What do you think of celebrities covering fashion magazines?

The Making of the Chanel SS12 Ad Campaign

Not too long ago I featured the beautiful ad campaign for Chanel’s SS12 collection featuring Joan Smalls and Saskia De Brauw. Now you can watch the whole thing in the making. The models are shot by Mr Karl Lagerfeld himself and as you can see he has captured them as quite the acrobats. Oh and I have to mention the fact that they are swimming in Chanel and this is just beyond fabulous. Who would not want to swim in Chanel?

Coco Rocha covers Flare February 2012

We have never featured a Flare cover before but we simply couldn’t ignore this fabulous cover of Coco Rocha. The Canadian model is photographed by Chris Nicholls wearing a Joe Fresh Skirt, Ashley Rowe top and shoes and necklace by Louis Vuitton. The look was styled by Elizabeth Cabral and I just have to say, it’s so refreshing to see a look put together for a cover rather then just taken straight off the runway. We love this smiley image of Coco and we’re hoping to see more of her on the runways this upcoming fashion month! What do you think of the cover?

Rihanna for Emporio Armani SS12 Ad Campaign

In her consecutive year modelling for Emporio Armani, Rihanna poses for photography duo Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott sporting a new darker hair colour. I love the black and white images, it adds a mysterious and sultry feel to the ads. (Not that the super star isn’t sultry enough).

Marion Cotillard In L.A.dy Dior

Oscar-winning French actress Marion Cotillard stars in the latest campaign for the L.A.dy Dior bag collection in a small film parody directed by John Cameron Mitchell. The video was shot in a mansion against the Hollywood hills and it’s a parody of the whole celebrity culture giving the campaign a little comedic twist.
