Last night I attended a wonderful celebration for the launch of ‘Fly to Baku’, an exhibition curated by Hervé Mikaeloff at the beautiful Phillips De Pury Gallery. The art on display was stunning. A few pieces had me very intrigued, trying to fathom that much thought and construction on one piece of work. For example, ‘Ornament 2011′ saw a messy looking structure of random wooden branches that created a magnificent reflection on the white wall. (Probably one of the most beautiful light installations I’ve ever seen). I say that of course before mentioning the piece in the next room. ‘Fly to Baku’ a piece by Rashad Alakbarov which sees an array of perspex structured ‘paper’ planes that are hung so intractely, they create a beautiful shoreside mural.

Quite honestly, this exhibition of can’t really be described. It’s a must see, so be sure to visit before it’s closing date on the 29th of Jan.
